Scrubbing Butters

For a totally decadent experience give yourself a shea butter body scrub before soaking in a warm tub.
Shea butter is a fantastic moisturizer all by itself but when Dead Sea salt, sugar, or other abrasives are whipped in for their exfoliating properties it rises to an entirely new level of luxury. Such salt scrubs can cost $70. 00 or more at a spa but you can achieve the same results in the privacy of your own bathroom and for a fraction of the price.
Body scrubs are a wonderful way to remove layers of dead skin bringing a healthy glow to one's body, however shea butter scrubs stand head and shoulders above products made with inexpensive vegetable oils. Shea butter has healing properties as well as being easily absorbed into the skin, maintaining a moisture barrier without feeling the least bit greasy. When massaged into scars or stretch marks, shea butter scrub will help minimize their appearance.
Sometimes called the African miracle, shea butter is a unique vegetable fat that is solid at room temperature and emulsifies easily with other oils, including essential fragrance oils without separating in the container. With the addition of salt, finely ground nut shells, pulverized coffee, or sugar, shea butter is transformed into shea butter scrub.
Frequently other beneficial oils are added to the base of shea butter. Oils like green tea oil, almond oil, jojoba, avocado, and fragrant essential oils only add to the luxuriant experience of a shea butter scrub. However, shea butter should always be the first ingredient and make up the majority of the product.
To get the most benefit from your shea butter scrub, plan ahead so you won't be disturbed, take the phone off the hook and put the Do Not Disturb sign on your bathroom door. Then disrobe and begin scrubbing your body gently with shea butter scrub, paying special attention to any rough spots like knees, elbows, and feet. Start with the rough spots and gradually work your way around to the rest of your body. Use a circular motion with your hand and adding more shea butter scrub as needed.
Be especially gentle on your face but don't be afraid of scrubbing there too. You can even put shea butter scrub in your hair as shea butter is a fine conditioner for hair and scalp. After you have covered your entire body fill the bath tub with warm water and slowly immerse yourself. The water will dissolve the salt or sugar in the shea butter scrub and the shea butter will begin to melt. Soak in this wonderfully moisturizing tub until you feel the stress flow out of you.
Rinse your hair well and shampoo if necessary then rinse your body and gently pat dry. Finish up with some regular shea butter or some jojoba oil to complete the treatment and make sure your new, shiny layer of skin is completely protected from the drying effects of wind and sun.
Give yourself a shea butter body scrub once a week and your will never again suffer from rough, scaly patches on your elbows, knees, or feet and your skin will glow with good health.

The Positive Effects of Natural Body Butters

Natural body butters rejuvenate your skin cells regardless of what damage you have done to your skin. Dry skin can occur if you spend too much time in the sun or by the natural aging process. Other factors that can lead to dry skin include smoking and drinking alcohol. Even if you do not suffer from dry skin, applying body butter to your skin will help keep it fresh and vitalized.

Natural body butters can feature many different ingredients, as long as they are natural products. An example of some ingredients includes beeswax, sweet almond oil, rose otto, lavender, witch hazel and grape seed oil. These popular butters can be used all over your body; they are not just for your face. If you have dry skin on your feet then these creams can work wonders for your feet.

If you have dry itching skin, it is suggested that you speak to your doctor or dermatologist before applying any natural body butters. Some skin conditions could require prescription medication to resolve the problem. Once the medical condition has cleared then you can apply body butter. A good cream will supply your skin with all the vitamins it needs. Avoid the cheap manufactured products that contain many chemicals.

Why are natural body butters so good for the skin? One reason is that they are excellent hydrating products. The oils in these products are the key to providing the proper nutrients to the skin and keeping the skin soft and young looking. The seeds or nuts are ground then cooked until the fat and oil is released. If you have nut allergies then it is advisable to stay away from body butters that use nut oils.

One of the most popular natural body butters is Shea Butter. This highly sought after product is derived from the karite tree. This tree grows in the West African savannah. The locals in the area refer to it as the Tree of Life. This butter has very high vitamin content and this helps nourish the skin and enhance skin cell regeneration thoroughly.

Using a good butter on your feet can do wonders for dry cracked feet. It will help keep infections away and really, helps to soothe your feet and it will help improve your circulation as well. For some people, a good butter helps their eczema or their dry itchy skin condition. If you have a skin condition, have it looked at by a dermatologist and they can guide you to the proper care and reconditioning of your skin before you try any product including natural body butters.

Since natural body butters are just that, natural, they should be stored in a cool place, because they will liquefy in warm climates. You can find these organic products available on numerous websites. If purchasing online, keep in mind that you will likely be paying shipping and handling charges as well. For some people, they have no option but to buy online because there is no local store selling these products.
