When it comes to the type of bath salt you can use, there are different options or choices for you to choose from. You can opt to use just one salt, but you also have the option to mix and match salts in order to give their mixture a variety of textures. You can choose from sea salt, Epsom salt, Dead Sea salt, Icelandic geo-thermal brine salt or Hawaiian Red Salt. Take note that these salts are proven to have medicinal properties as well.

To make your own bath salts, the first step is to combine a cup of epson salt with a cup of baking soda, two tablespoons of liquid glycerin and a few drops of your favorite essential oils. Make sure to mix them well in order to avoid lumps. You can add more essential oils as needed and a few drops of food color to your mixture if you want to make colorful bath salt. Now add half a cup of sea salt or table salt to your mixture and let it dry overnight. The following day, mix your bath salt completely and make sure to scoop out the lumps.
